Position Overview
We are seeking a Director of Survey & Right-of-Way Services to lead and expand our survey and ROW practice. This senior leadership role will oversee all aspects of survey operations and right-of-way engineering, with a primary focus on INDOT topographic surveys, legal surveys, and right-of-way plan development.
The ideal candidate will bring 20+ years of professional surveying experience, deep technical knowledge, and strong leadership skills to guide a high-performing team. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, field crews, and agency contacts to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership to the Survey and Right-of-Way department, including staff development, resource planning, and quality control.
Oversee INDOT topographic surveys, boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, legal descriptions, and right-of-way engineering.
Lead the preparation and review of LCRs, field notes, survey base maps, plats, and ROW acquisition documents.
Serve as the firm’s expert on surveying standards, INDOT procedures, and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with field crews and CAD technicians to ensure accuracy and efficiency in deliverables.
Manage client relationships and provide technical support during proposal development and project execution.
Work with leadership to grow the department and pursue new business opportunities.
