Big Eddy Film Festival
Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) is seeking creative and innovative candidates for the temporary part-time position of Program Associate for the Big Eddy Film Festival (BEFF). The 11th annual event will take place in Narrowsburg, NY from September 16-18, 2022.
DVAA launched the BEFF in 2012 as a platform to showcase the art of cinematic storytelling and celebration of independent filmmaking voices from around the world and in our own backyard. The festivals flagship venue is the Tusten Theatre in Narrowsburg, NY. Other nontraditional pop-ups also serve as screening venues, including outdoor spaces & eateries. Over the course of 3 days, the BEFF screens short films, documentaries, and feature films, as well as youth-made and classic films. BEFF also hosts filmmaker Q&As, panel discussions, and other special events. The esteemed travel guide, Lonely Planet recently listed the BEFF as a key reason to visit the Catskills in the fall.
As Program Associate you will be a core member of the team that produces the Big Eddy Film Festival, helping to shape and implement the annual festival. You will have the opportunity to work both behind the scenes and as a front of house member of the team. You will be empowered to employ a range of tools to ensure the festival reaches and impacts a wide range of audiences.

The Program Associate reports to the Big Eddy Film Festival Director.
Specific Duties include:
PROGRAMMING & FESTIVAL PLANNING Support the BEFF Team with all administrative, communication, and organizational tasks. Participate in weekly meetings. Assist with the selection of films for the 2022 Festival by facilitating the Screening Panel process and providing feedback on submitted screeners. Help maintain festival-related emails, spreadsheets, documents, and databases. Research films relevant to festival programming and facilitate outreach to film representatives. Help conceive and coordinate interpretive programming including panels and talk backs and special events. Coordinate accommodations and hospitality with visiting filmmakers and guests. Communicate with selected filmmakers, and coordinate the receipt of deliverables. Other related duties as requested. MARKETING & OUTREACH Assist with the writing and production of the festival catalogue, and other promotional materials. Website updates. Festival postering in and around the region. Help with the production and distribution of traditional and nontraditional marketing communications. Implement social media engagement strategies generating copy, producing photography and video for Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms. Other related duties as requested. FESTIVAL WEEKEND Venue manager as assigned. Introduce Film screening during festival as assigned. Other related duties as requested. POST FESTIVAL WRAP-UP Implement Audience and Filmmaker feedback surveys. Cull all press clippings for program archives. Archive and pack up festival materials. Oversee return of Films. Post festival Inventory festival merchandise. Participate in festival debrief with key team members. Other related duties as requested. Qualifications

Web and computer literacy, including proficiency with WordPress, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite programs. Superior organizational, interpersonal, communication, and writing skills. Experience collaborating with and managing a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Detail and deadline-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks across multiple simultaneous projects. The period of employment is from August 1 September 30, 2022. This is a two-day/16 hour per week position which expands to full time for the week of the festival (September 12). The position is performed on-site at DVAAs 37 Main Street location where safety guidelines pertaining to COVID-19 are followed.
