Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree Engineering and a minimum of 8 years of related work experience
Relevant Work Experience
Ability to effectively interact with both internal and external customers, support staff and various levels of management Required
Must be flexible, and be capable of exercising independent judgment Required
Ability to effectively engineer, schedule, manage, and prioritize a number of complex projects and assignments Required
Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion Required
Knowledge of the Con Edison electric distribution system and various associated designs Required
Pertinent experience includes the design and operating aspects involved in system and substation design related to providing high tension and distributed generation interconnection to customers. Preferred
Knowledge of primary distribution transformers, medium voltage switchgear, grounding systems, station battery systems, medium voltage revenue metering, protective relaying and voltage regulation systems with a working knowledge of distribution substation equipment and the associated design calculations, operating and protective relaying philosophies and grounding. Preferred
Knowledge of distributed generation interconnection designs Preferred
Relay Protection knowledge Preferred
Electrical Engineering experience Preferred
Experience in evaluating reliability benefits of alternative solutions, provide technical expertise and guidance and coordinate company resources to provide support to developers of new generation and distribution resources.X Preferred

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.

Additional Physical Demands
The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
Must be available 24/7, and available to be on call and/or participate in off-hour emergency response activities as required.
