Lead Controls Engineer
A well-established and growing manufacturer in the Greater Reading Area is seeking a Lead Controls Engineer to spearhead automation and control systems initiatives across its production operations. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving innovation in industrial automation. Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and implementation of control systems for automated machinery and manufacturing processes. Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and motion control systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff). Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineering teams to integrate controls into new and existing equipment. Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables for controls-related initiatives, as well as one other controls engineer. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior controls engineers and technicians. Develop and maintain documentation including schematics, wiring diagrams, and control logic. Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and internal quality protocols. Support commissioning, testing, and validation of systems both in-house and at customer sites. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field. 7+ years of experience in industrial controls and automation, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior engineering role. Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial networking. Experience with servo systems, VFDs, and machine vision is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
