TES Contracts & Grants Assistant

Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a TES Contracts & Grants Assistant. This position within Sponsored Research, Sponsored Instruction, and other Sponsored activities provides support for projects including proposal development assistance, review and approval, and contract and grant management. Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being: assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time, additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads, assistance with special projects, seasonal work, and emergencies. AU students are not eligible for TES. Essential Functions Maintains college database of proposals and awards. Responsible for auditing records and files for accuracy and completeness. Works with OSP & CGA to monitor new award setup. Serves as the Point of Contact (POC) to work with faculty on JIT requests from sponsors. POC for any pre-award requests from OSP after an award has been received but before set-up has occurred. Assists with New Award Setups in College once fund notice has been received. Initiates NCE and Carryover requests to AOR. Confirm end dates, available balances. Communicate status change to CGA and CGS. Update internal records. Audit monthly reconciliations, ensuring that accounts are kept up to date and tracker is accurate. Follow-up with CGA regarding invoicing on awards, updating invoice tracker and filing invoices in award folder. Facilitate 100% of college completion of effort reporting. Works with CGA on closeout of awards, FOPs, and converting FFP funds to indefinite and transferring funds to unrestricted, including capturing indirect on those accounts. Confirms expiring funds with assigned CGS on whether account is continuing or ending. May perform other duties, as needed. Why Work at Auburn? Desired Qualifications Proficiency with MS Office Suite software. Prior experience with pre-award or post-award requests. Salary Range $20.00-$25.00/hour based on experience Work Hours Standard operating hours are 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., but can be flexible based on department needs.
