Distribution/Collections Technician

In this role, you'll ensure Durango residents have access to clean water and effective wastewater management. You'll perform a range of skilled and semi-skilled work, maintaining and repairing water meters, mains, service lines, pumps, and lift stations. Essential Job Duties Inspect, maintain, and replace water meters to ensure proper operation. Maintain water distribution and wastewater collection systems, including hydrants, main lines, and sewer lines. Conduct sewer line inspections, maintenance, and repairs; lay new water and sewer lines as required. Operate pneumatic and hand tools; light equipment and trucks; and heavy equipment, including motor graders and heavy wheel front-end loaders during snow plowing and removal operations. Perform pumping station maintenance. Locate and mark water and sewer lines. Respond promptly to emergency callouts and repair needs. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. One year of experience performing maintenance work. Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL and relevant certification within six months of hire, and Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection certifications within one year. Knowledge of general construction, maintenance, and repair related to water and wastewater distribution and collection systems.
