Job Title: Quality Control Manager Job Description

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of the Contractor's Quality Control (CQC) program. This role ensures that all construction operations, both onsite and offsite, adhere to contract requirements and meet the expected standards of quality construction. This position will serve as the CQC System Manager for a $390 Million Pump Station Project, aiding in the restoration of the Florida Everglades.

Responsibilities

Manage the Contractor's Quality Control (CQC) system, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with the contract documents.

Hold written delegated authority to stop non-conforming work.

Report directly to an authorized corporate official of the company, not being directed by the Project Manager, Site Superintendent, or anyone directly involved in the everyday operations of the project.

Ensure the creation and maintenance of as-built drawings, marking changes from the contract drawings and ensuring each change is identified with the appropriate modifying documentation.

Conduct trend analysis of nonconformance notices (NCNs), deficiencies, and stop work orders to perform root cause analyses and implement appropriate actions to prevent recurrence.

Maintain the CQC Staff at full strength at all times and ensure any changes to the Quality Staff Organization Chart are submitted and accepted by the DISTRICT/PQACT.

Ensure all testing and inspections are documented in the QMS and that all geotechnical and concrete sampling, testing, and inspections are entered into the QMS database system.

Conduct three phase inspections, schedule testing, submittal review, and other QC duties.

Essential Skills

Quality control management in construction

Experience with USACE standards

CQC system management expertise

Mechanical and architectural knowledge

Construction management and engineering experience

Completion of 'Construction Quality Management for Contractors' course

Strong leadership and management skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Problem-solving and analytical skills

Proficiency in using Quality Management Systems (QMS) for documentation and reporting

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Graduate engineer, architect, or construction management graduate with a minimum of 5 years of construction experience on similar size and scope projects.

Ability to be onsite at all times during work and have no other duties.

Must be physically able to walk around the construction site and spend time in the field for observation and inspections.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite at the S-623 Pump Station. The role requires working Monday through Friday for 8-10 hours per day in a salaried capacity. The work environment mandates wearing a hard hat, steel toe boots, work pants, company shirt, safety vest, and gloves. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Bay, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $57.70/hr.
