Sourcing Analyst I
Given the financial nature of this position, this position has been defined as a position requiring a credit check. Prior to being hired, promoted, or transferred into the position, the candidate must successfully pass a credit background check. SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision, completes the sourcing process for key commodities. Supports the sourcing and procurement processes. Assists with managing assigned projects and business unit collaboration. Assists with contract administration and review. Processes ordering information under existing contracts (purchase orders, assignments, contract terms etc) and PNMR services procurement systems. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Gathers information, researches company sourcing needs, supports negotiation strategies, develops financial analysis, and supports Senior Sourcing Analysts Learns purchasing systems and ensures that buying procedures and systems are followed Inputs purchasing data to ensure automated purchasing procedures Creates and utilizes blanket purchase orders and processes purchase requisitions via purchase order or change orders Solicits bids, contracts, data, and other information from supplier and inputs into supply chain (SC) systems Manages buyer functions on less complicated commodity categories Assists with opportunity assessment of major categories and cost of ownership opportunities; analyzes key trends in global supply, profile market, and industry analysis Tracks and documents changes from process related to automation or other efficiency drivers Maintains database information and updates internal sourcing information such as historical bids/quotes, commodity price monitoring, and supplier lists, etc Ensures that all record keeping systems work properly Prepares ad hoc reporting, real-time generation of standard and customized reports Assists on complex special projects and other assignments as directed COMPETENCIES: Knowledge of standardized sourcing practices and procedures Ability to prioritize, schedule, organize, focus on, and complete work QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in a related field with one to two years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, financial reports, and legal documents Ability to write reports and business correspondence Advanced negotiation skills and ability to gain concessions without damaging relationships Ability to effectively present information to various groups COMPUTER SKILLS: Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software Ability to work with financial systems ANALYSIS AND PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to review financial and other business data, and to summarize that information for management.
