Event Staff

The purpose of the position is to assist in providing oversight during the hours that the facility is open to the public, to provide direction to guests and volunteer ushers, and to complete all customer service functions related to Lauderhill Performing Arts Center ("LPAC") events, under the general supervision of the General Manager or designee. Employees in this position are responsible for ensuring professional customer courtesy, overseeing the lobby and interior of the theater during shows, communicating effectively with the House Manager to ensure timely house opening, directing the general public, enforcing all safety and show specific policies and procedures throughout the venue, assisting in concessions during intermission, and light clean up in the house and lobby after the event, on an on-call/temporary basis. Position is responsible for ensuring safe, smooth, and successful events and productions. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities, as outlined herein, are intended to be representative of the type of tasks performed within this position. Other duties may be required and assigned. Assists Department in areas including, but not limited to, customer relations, guest wayfinding, enforcement of all show related policies and procedures (including, but not limited to, photography rules, cell phone usage rules, assigned seating, etc.), assisting guests to their seats, scanning tickets, light housekeeping at the facility entrance. Provides professional, customer-focused, welcoming service, including activities such as greeting patrons/clients, directing patrons throughout the facility, and escalating patron concerns to the House Manager. Maintains a physical presence at the work location; maintains punctuality and work a flexible schedule including night, weekend, holidays and events. Assists guests in locating and sitting in assigned seats. Assists in handling ticket scanning/tearing. Implements and ensures that guests are following all House and show specific rules and protocols. Maintains intimate knowledge of upcoming shows and events, including where to direct patrons if they are interested in more information. Assists in concessions before the show and/or during intermission on an as-needed basis. Completes light clean-up functions after the show including, but not limited to, recycling programs, picking up loose trash in the theater/lobby, vacuuming the lobby, and returning lost items to the House Manager. Assists with serving catered food and/or to clear tables during a catered function. Performs related work as required. High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution; AND Six (6) months of customer service experience and/or experience working special events and/or theatre events; AND A valid State of Florida Driver's License.
