Under the guidance and direction of the Director of Emergency Services and the Chief Nursing Officer, the Manager of Emergency Services provides nursing leadership, clinical education, and oversees specialized processes and projects in the emergency department. Essential Functions / Job Duties
Facilitates a welcoming and collaborative environment for all nursing staff, physicians/providers, patients, and visitors into the department Ensures a patient-centered care model where patient experience is valued and their behaviors are modeled Demonstrates working knowledge of AIDET, utilizing with each patient interaction Assists to decrease barriers to throughput and to ensure bed availability for new patient arrivals Assures quality care for all patients in the emergency department and identifies areas of opportunity in collaboration our Performance Improvement program Develops and delivers clinical education based upon the needs of the emergency department Fulfills the duties of a charge nurse as required Completes project work and audit process under the direction of the Director of Emergency Services Manages resources in a fiscally responsible manner. Assists with inventory and supply management program. Understands the complexity of a 24/7 department and provides leadership to all shifts and days of the week as needed Follows hospital safety and quality standards and expectations, as it pertains to job performance and patient care Demonstrates adherence to Lee’s Summit Medical Center’s ICARE values: INTEGRITY, COMPASSION, ALWAYS deliver the highest level of patient care and customer satisfaction, RESPECT, EXCELLENCE Qualifications
Graduate of Professional School of Nursing, BSN required, MSN preferred Missouri RN Licensure; current BLS; ACLS within 90 days; TNCC, NIH Stroke and ENPC within 6 months 1+ years emergency services experience required.
