QA/QC Specialist
We are seeking a QA/QC Specialist to provide technical oversight, code compliance, and design constructability support for large-scale high-tech construction projects in the regional area. This role is critical in ensuring that all installations meet specifications, adhere to applicable codes, and maintain high-quality standards. The QA/QC Specialist will interface with construction management, engineering teams, and trades to resolve technical issues and support discipline-specific inspections. Primary responsibilities include inspection and verification of installed systems, support of trades during installation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. Key Responsibilities: Inspect materials prior to installation to ensure compliance with specifications and codes. Oversee installation of systems in accordance with master specifications, standard installation details, local and international codes. Interface with project management, construction coordinators, and trades to resolve construction or installation issues. Perform necessary inspections, testing, and equipment sign-offs. Conduct SOP, SIPP, and Pre-Task Plan audits to ensure compliance with project requirements. Coordinate with tool owners and trades to ensure readiness for installation phases. Resolve technical construction questions and respond to discipline-specific RFIs. Maintain accurate records of QA/QC activities, including checklists, testing results, and inspection documentation. Discipline-Specific Responsibilities: Mechanical:
Oversee installation, testing, and balance of dry mechanical systems including exhaust and supply air systems. Ensure safety compliance for mechanical contractors and site-wide operations. Serve as a technical content expert on mechanical system fabrication, installation, and testing. Perform and track all QA/QC checklists and leak testing for mechanical systems. Desired certifications: SMACNA, ASHRAE. Process Piping:
Ensure quality standards for plastic, metal, and hybrid piping systems in microelectronics construction. Maintain installation guidelines, bulletins, and compliance documentation. Possess welding and fusion expertise for materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, PVDF, PVC/CPVC. Maintain ASME B31.3 certifications as applicable. Electrical:
Support resolution of design package and panel schedule issues. Manage EEW, COHE, and lockout/tagout procedures. Review electrical SIPP documentation for accuracy. Desired certifications: ASSE, IAEI. Architectural:
Coordinate cleanroom component installations and certifications. Support concrete coring, facility protection, and material movement within controlled environments. Manage interstitial and ceiling access programs, elevator coordination, and cleaning efforts. Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 6 years of QA/QC experience in high-tech construction projects. Journeyman-level experience in a specific trade discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Process Piping, Architectural/Cleanroom). Special Requirements: Discipline-specific certifications (as noted above) preferred. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schematics. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong technical knowledge in respective discipline (EL, ME, PI, AR, LSS). Ability to communicate effectively with trades, engineers, and project management. Knowledge of local and national codes, construction standards, and best practices. Ability to coordinate multiple projects and track earned value and progress. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Additional Desired Characteristics: Experience with microelectronics, cleanroom, or semiconductor construction projects. Familiarity with prefacilitation, microscheduling, and sequencing of construction activities. Work Environment: On-site at regional construction project locations with exposure to active construction zones. May require flexible hours depending on project needs. Must adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
