We are seeking an experienced Power Applications Engineer with a background in Electrical Engineering and Design to join our Applications Engineering team. Reporting directly to the Director of Applications Engineering, you will be responsible for working with our sales teams and clients to design solutions to meet mission critical electrical manufacturing specifications. What you'll do
Collaborate closely with the Sales team and clients to design and create solutions that meet the clients exact needs. Responsible for the creation, technical review, and approval of Hyper Solutions critical infrastructure solutions for pre-sale quoting functions in support of Hyper Solutions Account Executives. Ensure the technical feasibility and operational compatibility of solutions in a client-specific context. Provide detailed documentation and support materials for all designed solutions to facilitate understanding and implementation. Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related field. 5+ years of experience in the electrical industry, specifically with critical infrastructure components such as Switchboards, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), Remote Power Panels (RPPs), and transformers. Strong technical acumen with a deep understanding of electrical systems configuration and manufacturing. Essential for Success in this role
Knowledge of the RFQ and RFI process for Data Center bids. Strong understanding of customer specifications and ability to provide expert guidance on data center power solutions. Knowledge about products used in Data Centers PDU/RPP/STS/Switchboards/ATC. PLC knowledge is a plus. Knowledge about Data Center system architecture diagrams and one-line diagrams. Knowledge of Tier I-IV designs is an added advantage. Knowledge about LV switchboard design. Experience in creating configuration tools for application engineering is an added advantage. Knowledge about Transformers, Thermal magnetic breakers, MCCB, power breakers, PQM, BCM metering solutions. Prepare comprehensive submittal documentation following project awards for significant, multi-year engagements, facilitating smooth project execution. Knowledge in Industry standards (NEC, UL, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA and IEEE). Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus TCP, BACnet, Profibus and Ethernet). Collaborates with Production to expedite requests, and questions and configurations of the product with customer requirements. Organize project kick-off meetings by ensuring all required project information is collected and communicated to the project team. Language
