What challenges can you expect?
The Applications Engineer for OPP is the main contact point for the assigned Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The applications engineer supports the company revenue growth by providing technical expertise and support throughout the sales and manufacturing process, as well as maintaining relationship with the customer account.
Strategic Tasks
Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts (OEMs), understanding their business objectives and technical requirements. Advising OEM customers in regard to all technical inquiries relating to the MR product range, with specialized support from an OPS (Order Process Service) or specialized department where necessary. Interpreting, clarifying and realizing customer specifications for offers and orders, taking into account the MR delivery spectrum, support early review of technical feasibility and cost effectiveness of customer-specific special designs (K0). Compiling, analyzing (technically and commercially) and sending offers and order confirmations for products, components, parts and services for designated OEM customers (with support from OPS regarding parts & services). Assisting with and carrying out simple to complex technical projects depending on experience and skills (e.g. phase shifter). Work closely with internal teams, including sales, engineering, scheduling and production to monitor progress during processing and ensure successful implementation. Assisting with and monitoring delivery, tracking and invoicing. Providing technical support and after-sales services to designated OEMs. Processing of complaints and disruptions, including problem assessment, implementation of necessary actions, follow-up and correspondences, with technical support from an OPS or specialized department where necessary (e.g. in regard to substantive processing or system support). Provide technical support for internal departments (service, sales, production, etc). Collaborate with the sales team to develop and support sales strategies that effectively position our products/services in the marketplace. Conduct trainings, presentations, and technical workshops to both internal and external customers for the product range. Lead in-depth technical discussions with OEM / end user to identify and address their specific requirements and propose solution from MR product range. Stay current on industry trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies to effectively articulate our value proposition to customers.
What do we expect from you?
Experience And Skills
Basic knowledge of manufacturing process. Experience in energy industry (e.g. transformer design, controls, monitoring, regulation, etc). Business-fluent English Additional language skills desirable Communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically to address customer needs. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Time management and organizational skills Willingness to travel Business-oriented focus Customer orientation Regular attendance in the facility is required. Up to 10% Travel internationally and domestically
