AdventHealth Orlando Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean, and South America Houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and cardiac catheterization labs in the country Provides service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients annually The role youll contribute: The Laboratory Manager provides technical expertise and supports system functions through collaboration, standardization, integration, and oversight of related services. Manages daily operations of the laboratory/specialty within approved budgets, meeting departmental goals. Supervises analytical testing of blood and/or other biological specimens, manages laboratory processes or shifts, oversees workflow, quality control, procedures, performance improvement, training, and troubleshooting. Ensures equipment and computer maintenance/upgrades, and assists leadership in achieving departmental goals. May work with analytical testing of blood/human biological specimens as needed. Follows laboratory policies, maintains quality control, and ensures outstanding customer service. Develops and maintains policies, procedures, quality assurance programs, and evaluates new tests and instrumentation in coordination with medical leadership. Participates in system meetings and ensures staff competency assessments. The value youll bring to the team: Manages budgeting, department metrics, goals, quality initiatives, strategic initiatives, inventory expenses, and labor productivity Reduces waste, manages cost-saving initiatives, and ensures justified overtime Oversees SOPs and document control Assesses competencies according to CLIA regulations Represents the laboratory in leadership or technical roles at organizational meetings May assume Director responsibilities in the absence of the Director Prepares staff schedules and workflow assignments The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed: 1 year experience in leadership (managing a team) Clinical Laboratory Supervisor (SU) Required Certified Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS) certified Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office
