Maintenance Mechanic (U)
The Maintenance Mechanic (U) constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components to maintain the physical assets of the institution in good working order. Core Job Functions: Greases, lubricates, and replaces filters in air and hydraulic systems. Performs inspections and repairs of equipment, and completes scheduled maintenance. Diagnoses problems and makes adjustments or reports situation to proper managing staff. Prepares and maintains records and reports. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders. Orders necessary parts and equipment from vendors and suppliers. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Core Qualifications: Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required. Certification and Licensing: Refer to the department description for applicable certification requirements. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Commitment to the University's core values. Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment. Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
