Dudek is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual for an as-needed, Qualified Stormwater Developer (QSD) certified, Storm Water Inspector. The selected individual will assist with inspecting construction project(s) for compliance with Storm water regulations, particularly the California Construction General Permit. The Storm Water Inspector is responsible for ensuring site compliance with the California NPDES Construction General Permit, the projects SWPPP, and any other applicable requirements (e.g., Dewatering Permits). This is a field position with the majority of work hours spent in the field at project sites. This position is variable-hour with hours varying by project needs, and is a minimum of 2 days a week. Responsibilities Conduct routine 30-day QSD, semi-annual QSD, pre-storm, storm event, and post-storm inspections as specified in the SWPPP Trouble-shoot site compliance and BMP issues Communicate site/BMP issues and inspection results with construction and client personnel Collect storm water and non-storm water samples Conduct field analyses of samples, as needed Verify site compliance with SWPPP, maps and permit conditions Complete, maintain and submit SWPPP reporting forms Advise project management of BMP implementation and other compliance issues Facilitate and lead SWPPP-related training and other relevant communications for project staff
Minimum Qualifications
A QSD certification is required Strong MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet skills Familiarity with Best Management Practice (BMP) and NPDES regulation knowledge Familiarity with construction job sites and plans Familiarity with field sampling equipment Capable of field work and walking on difficult terrain Must meet company defined, pre-employment, random, and annual alcohol/drug screen* Must possess a valid drivers license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment
* As a federal contractor, successful candidates are required to pass pre-employment drug test and background check. Preferred Qualifications Four (4) or more years of field storm water and/or construction experience; inspection experience preferred A QSD certification is required CESSWI certification (recommended but not required) or equivalent CPESC credential or equivalent approved by EnviroCert/CISEC or equivalent agency (preferred not required) Access to a 4WD vehicle for use during inspections (preferred not required)
Compensation: $35-$60 hourly* *Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on factors including related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Pre-employment drug test and background check required. Working Conditions
Environment Remote environment with standard office equipment usage Frequent project site visits, outdoors, which can include noise, uneven surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment
Physical Requirements Working on a computer, sitting or standing for long periods Attending meetings in person or virtually and communicating with peers and clients Vision requirements including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment
