Nexus Family Healing is seeking a dynamic, forward thinking, mental health professional to lead as the statewide Clinical Director of mental health services. The Clinical Director is instrumental in developing and maintaining clinical services provided in a variety of programs, including school based mental healthcare, psychiatric residential treatment, treatment foster care, therapeutic host homes and outpatient mental health services. This position can be located anywhere in the state of North Dakota and can be hybrid-remote as needed. Position Summary:

The Statewide Clinical Director serves as the senior level leader for clinical services throughout the state of North Dakota. The Clinical Director oversees program management staff, Clinical Supervisors and Mental Health Therapists. This role offers great opportunities for growth and development planning around enhanced clinical services and supports the development of clinical work through a trauma-informed care lens. This role offers flexibility in location, a variety of service lines to support clinical work and development within and opportunities to expand the already broad reach of mental health services in North Dakota. Develops, grows, and drives clinical programs and programming consistent with Trauma-Informed clinical best practice, community needs and organization directives. Initiates, identifies, and analyzes potential or current problems or risk factors at the agency and generates alternative sound decisions. Participates in the budget development process and retains responsibility for the budget for clinical services. Responsible for clinical aspects of quality assurance (i.e., Referral Agent Satisfaction Surveys, Exit Interviews, Quality Management Program) at the agency. Oversees licensing requirements and compliance, alongside the Compliance Coordinator. Responsible for ensuring that all program policies, procedures, and manuals are current and complied with in conjunction with the Compliance Coordinator. Ensures all Nexus treatment philosophies are taught and implemented consistently at agency. Participates in and support the ongoing selection, evaluation, and professional development of mental healthcare staff. Regularly attends and actively participates in staff meetings, positively representing and advocating for the maintenance and expansion of evidence based and best practice standards. Exhibits clear, professional, respectful, and strengths-based communication with external contacts, families, clients, and families. Remains current on all required training and certifications. Recognize and value cultural differences in all aspects of work and service delivery Represents the agency and programing; manage internal and external issues and inquiries in conjunction with the Executive Director. Provides supervision towards licensure for new clinicians if needed. Supervises clinical leadership throughout the organization. Required Education and Licensure: Masters degree in Social Services, Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Psychology, or clinically related field required Minimum of 3 years experience in adolescent, adult and family-based behavioral counseling and/or residential experience, or related field Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT Licensure required Valid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirements Must have the ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals or communities and understand their unique needs and challenges Must be open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, considering factors such as language, traditions, and values Preferred Education and Experience: Experience in Trauma-Informed Treatment Modalities Knowledge of working with diverse populations, including individuals with neurodivergence, intellectual or developmental delays, trauma and the child welfare system. Experience working with youth and families facing acute mental health needs Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural, social, and religious backgrounds Expected Hours of Work: Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with the expectation to work specific schedules and hours as identified and communicated by management. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
