License: Valid multi-state or State Registered Nurse License. Certifications: BLS required. ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
Must-Have: - Must have six (6) to twelve (12) months of RN experience. - Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways. - Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. - Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively and efficiently. - Attention to detail as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.
Description: The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures. This role is essential for monitoring and evaluating patient functional status. The nurse utilizes the nursing process to care for patients. They assess, organize, and complete patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural, and psychosocial factors. Documentation of the steps of the nursing process is a critical responsibility. Proper medical terminology must be utilized consistently. Nurses must address problems and progress toward goals as part of patient care. Facilitating patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and utilization of patient education resources is required, suitable to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors. Collaboration with other disciplines as appropriate is essential. Supporting unit/hospital goals through performance improvement and educational activities is expected. Attendance at in-services, meeting unit education standards, and completing variance reports are part of the job responsibilities. Independent judgment is required in planning the sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field. The nurse works directly with patients and/or customers. Interaction with internal customers via telephone or face-to-face communication is a key part of the role. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals and staff is necessary for effective patient care.
