Senior Electrical Engineer – Data Center Design
Locations: Charlotte, NC | Atlanta, GA | Tampa, FL | Detroit, MI
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Data Center design to join a growing, innovative design engineering firm. This is an exciting opportunity to lead large-scale projects and contribute to cutting-edge infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development of electrical design solutions for complex projects Provide technical design support to the engineering team Prepare schematic designs, construction documents, and specifications in compliance with project requirements Coordinate designs with other disciplines, manufacturers, and vendors Conduct field surveys and site observations Ensure completeness and accuracy of construction documents and interdisciplinary coordination
Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering required Professional Engineer (PE) license; NCEES Accredited Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience, including large-scale Data Center projects Experience designing MV (34.5 kV) power distribution systems and general understanding of HV design Strong knowledge of conductors, conduits, and ground sizing per NEC requirements Proficient in load calculations, demand factors, fault current, and voltage drop calculations Experience with AutoCAD and Revit required Experience preparing Arc Flash studies and Breaker Coordination Analyses Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam Strong knowledge of model codes, particularly NFPA codes Excellent problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail Self-directed and able to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Work Environment:
