Job Summary:
Bus monitors work alongside bus drivers to manage student behavior, maintain order, and assist with loading and unloading buses.
Required Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent • Ability to communicate effectively, possess awareness of self and others, listen actively, be patient, incorporate humor/lightheartedness into work, be empathic, possess a growth mindset, and be customer-service oriented • Ability to support the District's vision, mission, goals, and culture code including the belief that all students can succeed • Ability to work with students in a productive, positive manner • Ability to work with colleagues in a professional, courteous manner • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations
Preferred Qualifications: • Ability to speak Spanish • Experience working with youth • Experience working with diverse populations
Essential Functions: • Assists with loading and unloading students on school buses or vans • Ensures all students behave in a safe manner • Redirects student behavior when appropriate • Assists medically fragile students with loading and unloading on buses • Assists with behavior management of students as outlined in the student's individual education plan • Works collaboratively with administration • Assists drivers in maintaining order, minimizing disruptions, and maintaining safety • Administers first aid to students if appropriate • Attends trainings as directed or appropriate • Develops and maintains appropriate relationships with other staff, families, and students • Other duties as assigned
Salary:
25-26 substitute salary schedule $20.05 per hour

On Call
