General Description: The Healthcare Labs Manager for Allied Health will play a crucial role in supporting faculty and students in Healthcare Programs for the Workforce Division of the college. This role will manage and maintain multiple labs for multiple campuses, to support FastForward /G3 programs and initiatives. Programs include Practical Nursing, Certified Medical Assisting, Massage Therapy, Nurse Aide Preparation, Medication Aide and Phlebotomy Technician. The lab manager will work collaboratively with instructors and maintain full responsibility for lab management and effectiveness.
Duties & Tasks : Collaborate with the healthcare faculty to ensure the availability and functionality of equipment needed for instructional purposes. Manage laboratory equipment Assist in setting up High Fidelity Nursing Simulation Equipment Prepare all laboratory materials and carry out timely set-up and take down of all laboratories, and exams (or other assessments). Support laboratory curricular development in collaboration with course instructors. Ensure all safety and environment health and safety procedures are followed, and all related compliance is maintained. Proctor exams as needed Perform administrative and laboratory work Manages lab inventory and creates purchase orders to ensure that labs have the needed materials and supplies. Operates and maintains lab equipment including small equipment repair and works with staff and outside vendors to schedule larger or more comprehensive equipment maintenance and repair. This position will maintain and enforce laboratory safety policies and will provide equipment training to other lab staff and faculty as needed. Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

Ability to work independently and maintain productivity Ability to set up laboratories for the disciplines Demonstrates required knowledge and abilities in managing, maintaining, and organizing laboratories and leading and supervising laboratory personnel Knowledge of laboratory organization, equipment, and materials in an academic setting Ability to clearly explain science laboratory goals and demonstrate science laboratory techniques Possesses extensive knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of laboratory safety practices in an academic setting, Safety Data Sheets, OSHA standards pertaining to laboratories in an academic setting, personal protection equipment, chemical and hazardous material assessment and abatement, and chemical and hazardous material waste storage and management. Knowledge in basic laboratory equipment inspection and repair Basic computer skills: Microsoft Windows, word procession, spreadsheets, and data management Possesses excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed Ability to travel to different locations for lab support. Minimum Work Experience:
Experience in Biology or Medical Laboratory management in higher education Experience in management and the setting up of Nursing Simulation Equipment Experience in laboratory inventory management and purchasing. Additional Considerations
Experience with simulation technology and software. Experience in Aria and Lucina Simulation Experience working in a college science laboratory setting. Management experience in an academic laboratory setting.
