Summary:

Administers non-emergent out of hospital care (such as moving, lifting, positioning) and transportation services to sick or injured persons.

Responsibilities:

1.Provide high-quality medical transportation to wheel chair and livery patients.

2.Safely fulfills all transport responsibilities associated with patient conveyance.

3.Documents relevant activities conveyance of patients.

4.Maintains equipment for constant state of readiness.

5.Operates vehicles safely while performing all matters in relation to patient conveyance.

6.May participate in orientation and training of new employees.

7.Recommends changes to lead staff to ensure smooth operation of transportation system.

8.Maintains cleanliness of vehicles.

9.Maintains crew quarters.

10.Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

11.Performs other duties as assigned.

Other Information:

High School Diploma/GED.

Valid CT Driver's License.

American Heart Association, BLS, CPR or equivalent.

Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) or equivalent within 6 months of hire.

May be required to obtain a public passenger license.

AHA, ARC, or NSC, BLS, CPR, (or CPR-Instructor) certificate that has not expired.

Working Conditions:

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Some occupational risk

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

Physical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
