Shelter Advocate*
Shelter Advocate Volunteers provide direct service advocacy to victims of domestic and sexual violence, including crisis intervention, support, general advocacy, referral, and education.
Respond to crisis calls, shelter requests and phone calls by directing callers to the appropriate resource or staff person as necessary.
Support women and families residing at the shelter with daily needs and crisis intervention.
Communicate with other full-time staff and volunteers regarding ongoing facility, program, and client needs.
Follow all agency policies and procedures.
*Must be 18 or older and have not received Alexandra House services in the last year. Position requires Volunteer Interview, Volunteer Orientation, Background Check, Information Session, 50-hour training, and attendance at any additional volunteer meetings.
