What you'll do: Assume complete responsibility for the shift and its operation Understand and positively impact key plant control factors of safety, quality, standard operating procedures, employee relations, training and continuous improvement Must have effective communication skills that enable the ability to direct/assign work assignments and cultivate a positive work environment Foster an environment conducive to achieving continuous improvement/lean objectives Must have the ability to operate in a lean manufacturing environment utilizing 5S and other continuous improvement tools Understand, monitor and maintain product quality levels Assist in the maintenance of SQF Quality Systems and problem-solving efforts on high impact quality issues Develop and mentor employees Understand, use and train employees on SOP's Oversee all new employee training Review production sheets and verify that production floor is set up to handle the requirements of the shift Responsible for the scheduling of all production employees on the shift and coordinating all requests for vacation and other time off Perform routine inspections, tests and evaluations of finished product Monitor the performance of and effectively troubleshoot issues with in-line vision inspection equipment Perform facility safety audits to insure adherence to all safety standards, including behavior based and hazard audits Ensures the effective maintenance of the SQF System Perform facility quality audits to insure adherence to all quality standards, including GMP's, housekeeping, and record keeping You'll love it here if you: Like to maintain a safe work environment Like to lead, direct and motivate your team Like to lead, motivate, and promote teamwork Auto req ID: 455636BR Minimum Education Required: High School/GED Job Category: Manufacturing Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities: What you'll need to have: Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university; or 2 years of related experience while managing others; or equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge and experience with SQF 2000 System is preferred. Training will be provided as needed. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write information and respond to questions from employees, customers, members of management, peers, and the general public. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form. Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record-keeping, routine database activity, spreadsheet, graphics, Microsoft Office products. Must possess interpersonal skills, attention to detail and be able to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. Ability to multi-task and manage projects, delegating tasks/assignments as needed.
