Support Queer Arts: FRONT OF HOUSE volunteer needed
Queer Cultural Center, San Francisco, California, United States, 94199
About the Event:
The Queer Cultural Center needs your help! Support us with the jubilant finale of this year’s National Queer Arts Festival on
Sunday, October 5th from 4:30pm - 9pm at CounterPulse in San Francisco . The Emerging Artists Showcase features four incredible QTBIPOC artists who have been working for months on new work as part of QCC’s Creating Queer Communities program! You don’t want to miss the fierce artistic creations from Landyn Endo, Layla Venegas, Melissa Charles, and Rai Dang. We have poetry accompanied by a band, a circus movement piece fusing with video art, live experimental sound work inspired by a Lauren Hill speech, and a spoken word set partnered with video and dance. All pieces are new and created as part of QCC’s Creating Queer Communities program. About the Role:
From 4:30pm - 9pm, we need support with running the Front of House on the day of the event. As our Front of House volunteer, you will be ushering guests into the theater (especially for reserved or accessible seating), passing out masks, making sure folks leave after the show ends, letting folks in the lobby know when intermission ends, and helping us with closing down at the end of the night. Volunteers should be comfortable verbally communicating with and directing audience members and standing for long periods of time. In between providing support, you'll also have the opportunity to enjoy the show and all of our wonderful artists as they perform on stage! Successful volunteers will have the option to receive a letter of recommendation from the Executive Director. What we Provide:
We will provide dinner and snacks and training on the day of the event. Accessibility: This is a
