A typical day as a Material Handler involves performing cycle counts, data entry, operating forklifts, working as a saw operator, and managing computer systems efficiently. Safety is the top priority at all times. Conduct cycle counts and ensure accurate data entry. Operate forklifts and saws safely and efficiently. Utilize computer systems for inventory and production tasks. Maintain a high level of safety awareness at all times. Experience in forklift operation and warehouse environments. Knowledge of material handling and inventory control. Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and interpret measurements using a ruler. High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 1 year of experience in a metals facility or manufacturing-related environment. Experience with shipping and receiving, packing, and order picking. Capability to operate pallet jacks and perform general labor tasks. Enjoy a dynamic work environment where safety is prioritized, and efficiency is rewarded. The facility employs 150-160 full-time employees. Dress code includes jeans, a t-shirt, steel-toed shoes, and personal protective equipment provided by the employer. Shifts are structured as follows: 1st shift from 6am-2pm, 2nd shift from 2pm-10pm, and 3rd shift from 10pm-6am. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.
