Database Developer

CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Database Developer within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. The Database Developer designs, develops, and maintains database systems to support applications and business operations. Their responsibilities include creating and modifying database schemas, writing and optimizing SQL queries, and ensuring data integrity, security, and performance. They collaborate with other developers and analysts to integrate databases with various systems. This position is located in USA VA Arlington; hybrid working model is acceptable. Your future duties and responsibilities: Designing efficient and scalable database structures to meet application and user needs. Writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers. Developing and maintaining data models and database schemas. Optimizing database performance through query tuning, index optimization, and other techniques. Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security through various measures. Working with software engineers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to integrate databases with applications and systems. Identifying and resolving database-related issues, performing regular maintenance, and ensuring smooth operation. Creating and maintaining documentation for database designs, code, and procedures. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Bachelor's degree and/or 2 to 5 years of experience Able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Poly, active TS/SCI with Poly highly desired. Strong command of SQL for querying, manipulating, and managing data. Experience with database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server. Understanding of data modeling concepts and techniques. Knowledge of programming languages like Python, Java, or .NET may be beneficial. Ability to analyze and resolve database-related issues effectively. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Ability to analyze data and performance metrics to optimize database systems. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $100,000.00 - $150000.00.
