Overview The Director of Marketing and Communications will work with the leadership team to develop a communications and marketing vision and strategy. The Director will gather the stories of our faculty and staff, students, parents and alumni. These will be shared internally with our Lauremont community, and externally with prospective families and community partners Key strategic goals: Build a common communications vision for Lauremont School (messaging, images) and enhance the visibility of the school name in new and existing markets to support our enrolment management, advancement and community engagement functions. Develop and implement a clear marketing and communications strategy to support the needs of the School. Responsibilities Strategic Oversight Develop a marketing strategy to support Lauremonts continued Enrolment. Develop an internal & external communications strategy that tells the Lauremont Story. Explore strategic partnerships for sponsorships/joint marketing. Design, implement and manage a comprehensive media and PR plan for Lauremont School. Develop and implement Lauremont communications policies. Communications Serve as the key point of contact for creating, developing and reviewing all corporate communications of the School Write and edit Lauremont articles and publications for internal and external use. Develop and promote tools and materials to help educate the community about all aspects of Lauremont School (Montessori, IB, Discovery Day Camp, co- and extra-curricular programs). Design, create and distribute strategic communication material including: Bi-annual Going Beyond (official Lauremont magazine), Annual Report, Gratitude Reports, Annual Giving Program collateral (printed and digital), organizational templates/presentations, school calendar and programmatic material needs as they arise. Work within the Community Development team to support communications as needed. Oversee the maintenance of the external websites for Lauremont School and Discovery Day Camp and help populate internal portal sites (electronic editing, design and production of relevant graphic work and images, all within a content management system). Develop a social media strategy for Lauremont School, which includes creating, maintaining, populating and measuring impact of social media platforms for Lauremont and Discovery Day Camp. Implement internal communications strategy including regular communication support to Academic Heads and Head of School through electronic newsletters and stories posted to Staff Portal. Data Gather and analyse data from all sources, and create reports for the Executive Director. Develop and distribute regular surveys to Lauremont parents and staff. Periodically gather feedback on communications to ensure relevance and awareness of preferred communication methods by the school community. Utilize robust data to enhance attraction and retention of students. Marketing Design and create Lauremont marketing material and collateral brochures for external use (i.e., Admissions materials, program materials, fundraising materials). Create experiential displays, signage and giveaways for Lauremont School. Oversee the production and archiving of photographs and video to be used in a variety of media for Lauremont School and Discovery Day Camp. Layout, design, development and production of promotional and advertising materials including: Publicity and recruitment materials (posters, display materials, publicity and recruitment materials, and special events promotions) Newsletters Advertising (print and digital) Work with external suppliers for printing, media production and media outlets, ensuring that printing costs and advertising stay within the marketing and communications budget. Assist in development of forms, internal documents and assets for various events and projects across the school (branding and professionalism). Other Attend school and community events as needed. Assist with other projects as needed. Manage a team of two. Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee may perform other related duties as assigned by school. Qualifications: 8-10 years in marketing/communications leadership role Experience within the independent school system, education sector or charitable/non-profit sector Experience creating high-level strategic and annual marketing communications plans (with SMART goals) Expert-level writer with familiarity creating copy for a multitude of platforms (including: advertising, public relations material/press releases, website copy, speaking notes, editorial narrative) Ability to use Adobe Creative Cloud Suite of products for graphic design/editing/print production and design management experience Experience in digital marketing and website design maintenance (using a content management system) Experience managing staff and outside consultants Current Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED The successful candidate must be an energetic team player excited by the opportunity to contribute to an exceptional school.
