Business Analyst
This position is located in the Secretary's Office - Data Research at the Louisiana Department of Corrections, which is part of the Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections Corrections Services. This position will serve as Business Technology Analyst responsible for aiding in data collection and analytics, and creating and maintaining data visualizations within the Office of Data Research and Statistical Analysis at Headquarters. Job Duties: Designs and maintains dashboards within a data visualization tool that can be used for data driven decision making by the agency. Assists in querying specific data from DPS&C inmate data systems to provide to other governmental units, citizen groups, and private organizations, or performance indicators contained in department databases. Learns to conduct project analyses relative to technology initiatives, business processes, and/or systems. Work with: The Office of Data Research and Statistical Analysis team. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted. An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted. This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment. Career Progression Group: BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY ANALYST 1, 2, or 3 Filled at the highest level of experience of the selected applicant. Salary depends on the level of experience.
