My Seniors Keeper Foundation, Inc. is seeking an Administrative Officer to manage the administrative affairs of our research garden. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing event planning, data management, and general administrative operations of the garden. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the Foundation's mission of providing a nurturing and sustainable environment for research and development. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities: Coordinate and execute event planning activities related to the research garden, including workshops, seminars, and public outreach programs. Collaborate with the research team to gather, organize, and maintain accurate data related to the garden's activities, including plant growth, maintenance records, and experimental results. Develop and implement efficient administrative procedures, ensuring smooth operations within the research garden. Monitor inventory levels of garden supplies and equipment, and coordinate procurement as needed. Maintain accurate records of expenses, invoices, and budgets, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines. Prepare reports and presentations on garden-related activities for senior management, stakeholders, and the Foundation's Board of Directors. Respond to inquiries and provide information to visitors, researchers, and other stakeholders regarding the research garden's activities. Liaise with external vendors and service providers to coordinate garden maintenance, repairs, and other support services. Assist with grant applications, fundraising efforts, and donor communication related to the research garden. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to research gardens, and make recommendations for process improvements. Qualifications: A heart for people and community-MSK is seeking volunteers who are passionate about helping build an intergenerational community space and leaving every place, project, and person better than they found it. Proven experience in managing administrative operations, preferably in a research or agricultural setting. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in data management and analysis, using tools such as spreadsheets, databases, or research software. Knowledge of event planning and coordination, including logistics, scheduling, and marketing. Familiarity with budgeting and financial management principles. Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and problem-solve effectively. Passion for environmental sustainability and research, particularly in the field of horticulture. Knowledge of gardening techniques and practices is a plus. Working Conditions: This position is primarily based in an office setting but may require occasional work in the outdoor research garden environment. Some flexibility in working hours may be necessary to accommodate events and deadlines.
