Position Summary
We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and creative
Toddler Music Teacher
to lead engaging music classes for children ages 1-4 and their caregivers. The ideal candidate has a passion for early childhood development, enjoys making music fun, and creates a nurturing, energetic class environment where toddlers can explore sound, rhythm, and movement.
Responsibilities Plan and lead developmentally appropriate music classes for toddlers and preschoolers. Incorporate singing, instruments, rhythm, movement, and creative play. Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for children and families. Communicate with parents/caregivers to encourage participation and highlight class goals. Ensure safety and supervision of all participants. Set up and clean up classroom space and equipment. Represent the YMCA's mission and values at all times. Qualifications
Experience working with young children (ages 1-4) in music, early childhood education, or related fields. Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies. Ability to sing and play simple instruments (e.g., guitar, ukulele, piano, drums, or percussion). Creative, energetic, and patient with excellent communication skills. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire). Must be at least 18 years of age. Schedule & Compensation
Classes typically run weekday or weekend mornings Part-time position, 1-3 hours per week. Compensation: $22-$30 per hour, based on experience. Benefits of Working at the YMCA
