The
Yoga Instructor
is responsible for delivering engaging, educational and professional yoga classes for students of all levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver entertaining, exciting, motivational, engaging, empowering, educational, and professional yoga classes to ensure members are satisfied with their yoga experience and remain motivated to attain their personal goals Create a welcoming environment for students of all levels Lead engaging and safe yoga classes tailored to various skill levels, including beginners and advanced practitioners provide consistent and safe instruction for all to practice by educating students on alignment, offering modifications for postures as appropriate, and consistently using succinct cueing Provide modifications and adjustments to accommodate individual needs, ensuring all participants can fully engage in the practice Accommodate different levels of fitness and abilities by offering modifications Develop class plans that incorporate elements of physiology, body mechanics, and anatomy to enhance student understanding and performance Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages students to explore their physical limits while prioritizing safety Monitor and connect to students during classes by educating and inspiring them on breath and personal sensation Teach high quality yoga classes with a focus in improving strength, flexibility, mobility, and stability Use succinct cueing delivered with a full range of expression Incorporate breath work and encourage mindfulness Promote the benefits of yoga alongside other fitness modalities such as Pilates, kickboxing, cycling, and CrossFit To ensure member safety, maintain a clean and orderly workout environment;cleaning and organizing studio space after each class Stay current with industry trends and best practices Provide world-class customer service Instructors are scheduled to be at the studio 30 minutes before and after each class to read Fitness Center communications, plan classes and connect with the member community Listens to members, answers questions, and engages in conversation before and after classes Connect with members 30 minutes prior to class beginning and 30 minutes after class ends in support of members' personal growth and all current Fitness Center initiatives REQUIREMENTS:
Must have employment eligibility in the U.S. Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification is required. Certification as a Yoga Instructor from an accredited institution is required. 200 RYT or equivalent. 1.5 years'experience teaching yoga classes (equivalent of 2 classes/week for 1.5 years or 150+ hours teaching)in a gym or health club setting Knowledge of group fitness dynamics and personal training principles is advantageous. Ability to lead students in physical activity for a maximum 1.5 hours at a time Knowledge of body mechanics, anatomy, and program design to ensure safe and effective classes Must be able to move around the studio space, crouch, bend, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively, effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds at all levels of the organization.
