Purchasing Manager - Residential Homebuilder

Are you an experienced Purchasing Manager with a strong background in residential homebuilding? Join a dynamic and growing company where your expertise will directly impact project success and profitability. We're seeking a detail-oriented, driven individual to lead and optimize purchasing operations for high-quality single-family homes.
Key Responsibilities: Manage all purchasing activities from pre-construction through project completion
Source, negotiate, and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
Analyze takeoffs and estimates to ensure accuracy and budget alignment
Collaborate with estimators, project managers, and field teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials
Track market trends, pricing, and availability to maintain competitive advantage
Maintain budgets, purchase orders, and procurement documentation
Evaluate vendor performance, ensuring compliance with cost, quality, and schedule expectations
Improve internal purchasing processes and contribute to strategic planning
Requirements:
5+ years of purchasing experience in residential homebuilding
Strong knowledge of construction materials, trades, and residential building processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and purchasing/estimating software (e.g., Buildertrend, CoConstruct, SupplyPro, etc.)
Excellent negotiation and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in both custom and production homebuilding
Familiarity with plan reading and estimating
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field (a plus, not required)
