Senior Software Engineer
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong application development skills to support complex data and software initiatives. This role involves building and optimizing applications, enhancing database structures, and ensuring reliable integrations through APIs. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in C#, SQL Server, and modern frameworks, along with industry experience in the utility sector.
This role will be an onsite role in Sacramento, California for the first month before transitioning to a hybrid schedule.
Senior Software Engineer Responsibilities
Design, develop, and enhance software applications to meet evolving business requirements. Create and maintain relational and multidimensional database structures, data flows, and interfaces. Build and refine ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources. Write, test, and debug C# code and SQL queries to ensure accuracy, performance, and scalability. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, propose solutions, and deliver clear documentation. Participate in technical design, testing, and implementation efforts while ensuring adherence to best practices and standards. Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Senior Software Engineer Qualifications
7+ years of experience with Visual Studio and C#. 7+ years of experience working with SQL Server and relational databases. At least 1 year of experience in the electric utility industry. Strong skills in developing and debugging C# code and SQL queries (examples required in resume). Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and working with JSON. Familiarity with .NET Framework and .NET Core. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with additional databases such as MongoDB, Postgres, or Cassandra. Knowledge of MVC, Blazor, or modern design patterns. Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, XML, JSON) and reporting tools such as Power BI. Exposure to GIS, AMI systems, or other utility-specific platforms.
