Travel Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Location:Washington, DC 20037 Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Shift:12-Hour Night Shifts (3x12s per week) Job Summary:
The ICU RN provides high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients within a multidisciplinary Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting. The unit manages a wide range of patient populations, including but not limited to: neurological, neuro-surgical, medical, surgical, pulmonary, cardiology, cardiothoracic, and trauma patients. The ideal candidate is an experienced ICU nurse who can function independently, utilize advanced critical care technologies, and demonstrate sound clinical judgment under pressure. Key Responsibilities:
Deliver safe, compassionate, and comprehensive nursing care to ICU patients Monitor, assess, and respond to patients’ complex health conditions using advanced equipment Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals Operate and manage life-saving equipment including ventilators, IABP, ECMO, Impella, CRRT, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policy Maintain accurate documentation and ensure regulatory compliance Educate and support patients’ families regarding treatment plans and care procedures Required Qualifications:
Active RN license in the District of Columbia Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications –
Required Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved nursing program Experience with Cerner EMR –
Required Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
