Job Responsibilities:

Group Description This position will be a part of a new start-up Joint Venture between LM Manufacturing and Magna Seating. The Seating JIT Assembly plant is located in the Detroit, Michigan. Role Summary LM Manufacturing is a leading company in the manufacturing industry, specializing in the production of high-quality products. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team as an

Plant Controller .

The Plant Controller, reporting to the President/CEO, serves as the senior financial leader responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and strategic financial planning, while also providing insights to improve operational efficiency and offering a clear path to executive-level advancement.

Key Responsibilities: Finance Leadership & Oversight : Leads the Finance Department team, ensures timely performance reviews, and enforces company policies, goals, and safety standards. Accounting & Reporting : Manages month-end processes including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, intercompany balances, and asset performance reporting; ensures compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley 404. Forecasting & Budgeting : Prepares weekly cash forecasts, supports budgeting and forecasting activities, and analyzes plant operating expenses. Audit & Compliance : Leads internal and external audits, ensures timely completion of corporate schedules, and provides monthly minority spending data. Safety & Environmental Responsibility : Promotes a safe work environment, responds to incidents, ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, and oversees annual physical inventory controls. Education / Certification / Licensure

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience

8+ years in accounting, including month-end/year-end close, audits, financial systems, cost containment, and operational reviews. 3+ years of supervisory experience. Strong background in financial analysis techniques (e.g., cash flow, ROI, depreciation, working capital). Familiarity with cost accounting in OEM manufacturing environments. Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively across functions. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Skilled in financial analysis, problem-solving, and project management. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and financial software systems. Knowledge of OEM-related cost accounting in manufacturing settings.
