Job Summary:

The Plant Controller is responsible for all financial and accounting functions at the manufacturing plant. This role provides leadership in financial planning, cost control, and accounting practices, supporting operational performance and strategic decision-making. The Plant Controller ensures compliance with company policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities: Oversee all financial and accounting functions for the plant, including general ledger, cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting. Analyze plant performance, including production costs, variances, inventory levels, and margins. Partner with plant management to drive cost savings, operational efficiency, and strategic improvements. Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to plant and corporate leadership. Ensure accurate and timely closing of monthly financial statements. Develop standard costs and maintain accurate inventory valuations. Monitor capital expenditures and assist in capital budgeting processes. Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with SOX (if applicable). Serve as the key financial liaison between the plant and corporate finance team. Lead financial audits, physical inventory counts, and compliance reporting. Supervise and develop plant accounting staff. Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred). Experience:

5+ years of accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing environment; prior plant controller or senior cost accountant experience preferred. Skills: Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing processes. Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills. Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards). Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills. Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control practices.
