Responsibilities
Room patients, perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds.
Coordinate provider schedules and appointments, enter orders and prepare patient charts.
Instruct patients and families as directed within scope of licensure or certification.
Prepare patients and assist medical providers with in-office procedures and prepare and administer medications/immunizations.
Maintain exam rooms and equipment to be within infection control standards.
Ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies for each patient room.
Qualifications
Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, or graduation from an Accredited School Of Practical Nursing.
Minimum of 160 hours of direct patient care experience as a LPN/MA/EMT obtained through professional MA/LPN/EMT work experience or completion of student clinical rotations.
Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred; current clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse is preferred; current experience as an Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is preferred.
Knowledge of principles and skills needed for practical nurse or medical assistant to provide patient care; knowledge of medical equipment and instruments; knowledge of safety hazards and precautions; fosters work and patient relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work under stressful or emergency situations.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a clinical setting.
