This includes radar and communications shelters, electronic subsystems, launchers, hardware integration, and system interconnects.We are currently seeking a motivated and driven Mechanical Engineer II to join our Ground Equipment Design Team. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, mechanical hardware design experience, system integration skills, and a strong background in program execution and production support. As a key contributor on a mechanical or cross-functional engineering team, you will be responsible for component and assembly modeling, documentation, design changes, and release processes.This position is ideal for an early-career mechanical engineer who is looking to grow their skills in design, manufacturing, and technical problem-solving within a highly collaborative and mission-focused environment.Role is an On-Site role in Tewksbury or Andover, MAKey Responsibilities:Design & Development:Investigate and resolve change requests from manufacturing or suppliersDevelop rework or modification procedures to support product updatesSupport the full product lifecycle from concept definition through detailed design, release to production, and post-production supportCollaboration & Communication:Work closely with other engineering disciplines, non-technical functions, and suppliers to develop robust design solutions and resolve technical challengesParticipate in design peer reviews, resolve action items, and conduct trade studies to inform technical decisionsManage tasks independently and ensure timely delivery of technical, schedule, and financial commitmentsMentor and support less experienced engineers, contributing to team development and technical growthBasic Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in rugged or military-grade hardware designHands-on experience with 3D CAD tools and associated product data management (PDM) systemsExperience with the full product lifecycle, including concept development, detailed design, and production supportAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)Preferred Qualifications:Technical Expertise:Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related hardware systems disciplineFamiliarity with:Electronic packaging designSubsystems, modules, CCAs, PWBs, and interconnects (supporting RF, digital, and power systems)Design and integration of electronic assemblies, shelters, racks, and power distribution unitsMilitary and commercial specificationsGeometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5ECAD development processesExperience with Interconnects, Cables, and HarnessesDesign Tools & Processes:Proficient in Creo CAD tools and documentationExperience with Windchill PDM or similar configuration/data management systemsFamiliarity with configuration control and change management processesSkilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)Leadership & Collaboration:Strong team player with a self-driven, proactive mindsetDemonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectivelyExcellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skillsWillingness to travel domestically and internationally as neededThis role offers the opportunity to work on advanced defense systems in a collaborative engineering environment, with ample room for technical growth and leadership developmentRTX Corporation is an Aerospace and Defense company that provides advanced systems and services for commercial, military and government customers worldwide. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
