Job Description: As a Talent Acquisition Business Partner, your days will be full, fast-paced and challenging. You will meet with candidates, consult with business partners, network within the industry, and strategize ongoing improvements and new ideas to help us meet our operational goals. You will live our brand by questioning authority, taking educated risks, and thinking like an owner. You will leverage your strengths in relationship building regularly, partnering with colleagues across all levels and departments of the organization (Property Management, Organization and Talent Development, Facilities, Investments, etc.) with the shared goal of maximizing the potential of employee and asset performance in your region. Under the general supervision of the VP of HR Transformation, the Talent Acquisition Business Partner is responsible for the overall sourcing, recruitment, and placement of candidates for market and corporate positions to meet current and future staffing needs. The role develops and uses diverse recruiting strategies to fill openings promptly, ensuring a strategic, creative, cost-effective candidate sourcing process while managing the candidate experience in alignment with Equity Residential brand. Primary functions include building and maintaining a diverse candidate pipeline, screening, interviewing, hiring, developing a college/university/trade school recruiting strategy, driving diversity talent initiatives, presenting a diverse slate of talent to the hiring team, analyzing compensation trends and making salary recommendations, coaching hiring managers on interviewing and hiring decisions, and analyzing results of recruiting strategies and turnover. What You’ll Do Sourcing & Recruiting Strategy – 50% Develops and implements recruiting and selection strategies for the assigned region/portfolio in partnership with senior leadership. Acts as a strategic business partner to Vice Presidents, Regional Managers, corporate teams, and onsite staff to address staffing and retention challenges. Researches and establishes relationships with diverse talent sources in local markets. Builds and maintains a candidate pipeline and passive candidate strategies. Screens resumes and conducts initial phone screens; schedules and conducts in-person and/or video interviews for market and corporate positions. Makes hiring decisions, compensation proposals, and offers for non-managerial market positions. Assesses candidates for further interviews and consults with Hiring Managers on the process and compensation. Manages internal transfer and promotion processes for the region as needed. Sources candidates for internship and apprenticeship programs and coordinates career events to increase diversity. Maintain Equity’s Brand & Culture – 25% Acts as a brand ambassador and participates in local market activities to attract and engage talent. Prepares recruiting reports, analyzes trends, and shares insights with internal partners. Strategic & Leadership Contributions – 25% Provides clear communication to all levels of management. Guides managers in the hiring process and serves as a resource to internal customers and hiring managers. Represents the Company professionally and maintains an exemplary demeanor with applicants and colleagues. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Qualification Requirements 2+ years of recruiting/hiring experience; college degree strongly preferred; in-house recruitment experience preferred. Experience in real estate is not required, but recruiting in a related industry (hospitality, retail, restaurant, sales) is ideal. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; professional image essential. Strong customer service, problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. Attention to detail and organization; ability to manage multiple tasks with confidentiality. Proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new software; travel may be required. Salary: $94,000 - $115,000 per year; in addition to base salary, a discretionary annual 13% bonus is provided. Starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, and qualifications.
