Position Summary As the Complex Director of Finance, you will serve as the financial steward for two distinct hotel assets—one in Chicago and one in New York City—ensuring optimal financial performance, compliance, and strategic alignment with ownership and brand goals. You will be based in Chicago and travel quarterly to New York to maintain strong operational and financial continuity across both properties. This role is ideal for a high-impact leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys mentoring teams, and is passionate about driving profitability through data-driven decision-making and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
Lead all financial operations for both properties, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis. Partner with General Managers and Executive Committees to drive financial strategy and operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with internal controls, brand standards, and ownership expectations. Oversee accounting teams and support talent development across both locations. Analyze financial trends and provide actionable insights to improve margins and revenue. Manage capital planning, asset protection, and ROI analysis for major initiatives. Serve as the primary liaison with ownership groups, auditors, and corporate finance. Travel quarterly to the New York property to maintain alignment and support local finance operations. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred). Minimum 5–7 years of progressive hotel finance leadership, preferably in multi-property or urban environments. Deep understanding of hotel operations, brand standards, and financial systems (e.g., BirchStreet, PeopleSoft, M3). Proven ability to lead teams, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and present to ownership. Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
