Job Summary The Electrical Cost Estimator is responsible for analyzing financial data and preparing accurate cost estimates for electrical construction projects. This role works closely with project teams, engineers, and clients to forecast budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure projects are completed efficiently and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with clients, engineers, and staff to understand project requirements.
Review processes, materials, and labor needs to develop accurate cost estimates.
Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality and compliance.
Prepare detailed project budgets and distribute reports to stakeholders.
Forecast production scenarios and recommend strategies based on findings.
Determine optimal pricing structures to maximize profitability.
Utilize estimating software such as Accubid and LiveCount to prepare budgets.
Conduct site visits as needed to verify project requirements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
10+ years of trade experience .
Minimum 2 years of estimating experience, ideally in electrical construction.
Proficiency in construction estimating software (Accubid and LiveCount).
Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Ability to navigate construction sites and lift up to 15 pounds.
