Overview
Provide ongoing maintenance, enhancement, and support for various business applications within the agency. Assist in preparing and documenting program requirements and technical specifications. Research and document software user requirements. Write, translate, and code software programs and applications based on provided specifications. Contribute to the development and maintenance of user manuals and technical guidelines. Collaborate with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to resolve software issues. Mentor and guide junior programmers as needed. Utilize extensive experience with Oracle databases, including complex query writing and PL/SQL development. Perform database and SQL performance tuning. Develop and maintain applications using JavaScript frameworks (e.g., AngularJS, NodeJS, React, JQuery). Work with financial data, particularly related to accounting processes and internal controls. Apply knowledge of relational database design, database security, and UML. Use database query tools such as TOAD, SQL Developer, or SQL Navigator. Employ continuous integration tools (preferably Jenkins) and code repositories (preferably Git). Demonstrate strong problem-solving, judgement, and foresight in identifying and addressing potential issues. Effectively prioritize tasks and manage work independently under pressure and tight deadlines. Communicate and collaborate efficiently with team members and stakeholders, both orally and in writing. Preferred: Possess Oracle certifications, accounting standards knowledge, experience with PHP, web development (XML/CSS), environmental regulatory processes, and familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP, Kanban). Must be local and able to work onsite.
