Job Summary
The Advanced Practice Provider is an advanced practice registered nurse or physicians assistant with education, training, certification and licensure to provide care for a specified patient population. This individual will deliver longitudinal care for patients including well-child care and prevention/management of common pediatric acute illnesses and chronic conditions. This care is provided to support optimal health of children within the context of their family, community, and environmental setting. The components of the role include clinical practice, consultation, professional development, education and scholarship. This individual works in collaboration with the collaborating physician, Division Medical Director, staff physicians, the Director of APPs, Lead APP, staff nurses and other team members. Education DNP, MSN or Post-Graduate Certificate with specialization as a pediatric nurse practitioner or family nurse practitioner OR Graduate of masters or doctoral level physician assistant program
Experience
At least 1 year of nursing or medical experience required with experience in the subspecialty area preferred.
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
Must be eligible to practice as a nurse practitioner as determined by the Alabama Board of Nursing or as a physician assistant as determined by the Alabama Board of Medicine Current RN Licensure in the State of Alabama for nurse practitioners Current BLS/PALS certification CPNP-AC, CPNP-PC or FNP or PA-C
