Real Estate Accountant
Addison Group is supporting a client in their search for a Real Estate Accountant to join their corporate accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with a strong corporate background to contribute to a highly profitable and growing organization. About the Role
This role is a full-cycle accounting position with a focus on reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close duties. The Real Estate Accountant will collaborate with management teams to understand day-to-day operations, expense allocations, and profitability drivers, while supporting corporate budgeting and payroll processes. Perform full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close. Support weekly payroll processes and accruals, including analysis of all-in costs. Partner cross-functionally to understand staffing allocations, chargebacks, and expense trending. Assist with corporate budgeting, incentive accruals, and variance analysis. Provide insights into profitability drivers and field questions from managers regarding financial results. Identify opportunities to maximize reimbursements and streamline accounting processes. Contribute to year-end close, audits, and compliance requirements. Use advanced Excel skills and embrace technology to improve reporting and efficiency. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 35 years of corporate accounting experience, ideally with exposure to real estate or property management. Strong knowledge of accrual-based accounting, reconciliations, and close processes. Experience with payroll accounting and cost allocations. Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas) and comfort with ERP/accounting systems.
