ECLARO is recruiting for a Principal Network Engineer in the Fairfield, CA area for one of our clients. The client is a leading provider of healthcare workforce software and solutions. Position focuses on managing and overseeing a major information technology system, group, or program, including staff and contract resources. Acts as a project / team leader and technical expert in assigned areas of responsibility, and oversees major IT initiatives. Responsibilities
Coordinate the organization, staffing and operational activities for assigned information technology programs, initiatives, and projects; develop goals, objectives, policies and priorities related to information technology; implement improvements. Oversee and participate in analyses to determine information input, work processes, and output for a large number of users in support of multi-department or county-wide applications; review forms, documents, reports, and data requirements. Consult with customer departments on feasibility of systems conversion; analyze County-wide operations and information sharing needs; recommend improvements in operations and administration of existing systems. Direct, coordinate and review work plans for Information Services activities; assign workloads; monitor workflow; resolve problems with staff. Oversee implementation of IT projects; develop priorities and manage projects to ensure timely completion; propose alternatives to keep projects on schedule. Participate in development of IT strategic plans; recommend standards for hardware, software and networks. Recruit, train, motivate and evaluate staff; provide training and disciplinary actions as needed. Develop and administer assigned program budgets; forecast resources and monitor expenditures. Provide staff support to management; participate on committees; prepare reports and correspondence as needed. Maintain professional knowledge and advise on changes in regulations and technology trends. Qualifications
Cisco technology expertise: configuring, managing, and troubleshooting a wide range of Cisco networking equipment; advanced proficiency with Cisco ACI, DNA Center, SD-WAN, and intent-based networking; routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), TCP/IP v4/v6, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, VLANs, VPN, MPLS; configure Cisco Firepower rule sets. Network design and optimization: ability to design and implement network architectures aligned with County objectives; optimize performance and security; experience with various networks, topologies, VLANs, and security mechanisms. Security and compliance: Knowledge of Cisco security solutions and protocols; implement robust security measures; ensure compliance and data integrity. Troubleshooting and incident response: strong analytical and problem-solving skills; develop and implement incident response plans; manage TCP/IP networks, LANs, WANs, Wi-Fi, and VPNs. Team collaboration and leadership: leadership and mentoring; autonomous work style; clear documentation; ability to work with County department requirements; project management; vendor management; strong attention to detail. Education and experience: Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field; six (6) years IT systems and/or application development and support experience including two (2) years in a lead or supervisory role; additional experience may substitute for education; some positions may require technical certifications. Preferred certifications: Cisco certifications (CCNP, CCIE highly regarded). Pay Rate
