BACO Dispatcher
Transdev in Baltimore, Maryland is hiring a Baltimore County Customer Service Representative/Dispatcher to act as a liaison for our customers, providers, and client. The BACO Dispatcher shall provide direction and maintain communication with all vehicle operators while monitoring adjustments where necessary to maximize on-time performance and minimize service disruptions because of vehicle operator availability and/or emergency situations. BACO Customer Service Representative/Dispatcher is required to screen, verify recipients eligible for the Baltimore County Medical Assistance Transportation Grant Program. We are seeking friendly, customer service-oriented people who are dedicated to safety. Transdev is proud to offer: CBA Position: $23.58 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale) with progression to $24.29 over 1 year. Vacation: 72 hours in the 1st year of service. Paid Sick Leave: Up to 40 hours in accordance with the Maryland Healthy Working Families Act. Insurance: Medical, Dental & Vision after 90 calendar days of employment for full-time employees, life insurance, 401K retirement benefits, and company holidays. Key Responsibilities: Vehicle operators shift and scheduling adjustments. On-time gate performance, productivity, and service. Pull-outs per schedule. Effective communication with Baltimore County and subcontractors. Accurate and consistent documentation of daily items including operator attendance, passenger and scheduling issues, emergency situations and other daily events or disruptions. Checking operators in for shift (credentials). Reconciliation of trip manifests by vehicle operators. Respond to customer inquiries and concerns with timely responses and accurate information or redirecting to a supervisor. Comprehensive understanding of policies and procedures. Meet or exceed established performance requirements. Document trip authorizations and details including transportation type, pickup times, appointment times and addresses. Other duties as required. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of three years of successful dispatcher experience or three years of administrative experience in a transit dispatch environment. Data entry experience and a general knowledge of windows-based computer operating systems and MS Office Suite. Must be able to work flexible hours or shifts. Ability to operate standard telephone system. Must be able to demonstrate poise, tact, diplomacy and possesses good judgment and discretion. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written a must. Detail oriented, well organized, and possess effective time management skills. Proven customer service and interpersonal skills a must. Must be able to work as a member of the team. Ability to interact professionally on all levels and be able to work well with diverse groups. Ability to adapt and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment. Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. Physical Requirements: Work is generally done sitting at a desk, utilizing repetitive hand and wrist motion. Lifting, pulling, and bending is required. Must be able to lift or handle up to 25 pounds. Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibrations and noise.
