The Shipping & Receiving Clerk plays a critical role in the daily operations of a chemical blending facility. This position is responsible for the accurate and safe handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal procedures related to chemical materials. Ensure compliance with Dangerous Goods protocols by properly labeling, packaging, and preparing all required shipping documentation before dispatch.
Manage inventory entries transactions using the QAD ERP system. Ensure all orders shipping are accurately documented and accompanied by the required supporting paperwork.
Shipping Duties:
Prepare and package outbound shipments of chemical products in accordance with DOT, OSHA, and company guidelines.
Generate shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing lists, and labels.
Ensure proper labeling and documentation of hazardous materials.
Coordinate with carriers for pickups and deliveries.
Ensure proper storage and staging of outbound materials.
Complete all required training courses-including DOT, HAZWOPER, and Title 22-to obtain and maintain necessary certifications. Additional certifications related to domestic and international shipping may also be required depending on job responsibilities.
Comply with all ISO Standards related to the position.
Receiving Duties:
Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
Verify materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
Safely unload and store chemicals in designated areas.
Maintain accurate inventory records and update ERP systems.
General Duties:
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping/receiving area.
Collaborate with production, quality, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth material flow.
Report discrepancies or issues to the Site Manager promptly.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in Shipping/Receiving roles required
1-2 years experience with Dangerous Goods required
Knowledge of Quality standards ISO9001/ISO14001preferred
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail required
Proficiency in QAD ERP, PE, and Ignition systems preferred
Demonstrated ability to effectively train and support team members required

However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company performance. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is-
$52,624.00 TTC
. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and/or individual performance and is not a guarantee.
