Qualifications include: a bachelor's degree in education, engineering, curriculum development, related technical field or equivalent years' experience within a related field. Proven experience in developing and delivering technical training programs in the electric and gas utility sector, or other energy or industrial sector preferred. Willing to train the right person for this position. Strong curriculum development skills preferred. Strong communication and presentation skills. Experience with e-learning platforms and instructional design. Ability to collaborate and influence effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong computer and business software skills required. Highly organized. Problem-solving skills. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, and effective interpersonal skills. Knowledge of electric and gas infrastructure, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of various teaching methods and approaches. Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record. Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. Get Into Energy - Energy Industry Fundamental 2.0 certification is a plus. Duties include: assist with developing and implementing a comprehensive training vision for Distribution Operations craft and professional employees in coordination with the Safety, HR and other Departments. Conduct individual and team skills gap analyses and develop training programs to address requirements. Develop technical training curricula and courses for various competency and experience levels, from new employees/apprentices through intermediate and advanced experience employees. Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training materials align with industry standards, regulations, and company policies and standards. Partner with management to identify talented subject matter experts who can be "peer trainers" and effectively develop their trainer skills and competencies. Consult on design of training facility equipped with classrooms and an outdoor yard with electric and natural gas equipment and tools for hands-on simulation of safe utility tasks and operations. Coordinate vendor-led trainings, including presenting new tools, equipment, and technologies and simulating activities in a demo environment. Develop and support partnerships with high school, university and technical education school programs. Utilize innovative, audience and subject matter appropriate training methods, including classroom, e-learning platforms, simulations, and hands-on exercises. Regularly update training materials to reflect advancements in technology, industry best practices, and regulatory changes. Foster a positive learning environment that encourages active participation and knowledge retention. Assess training effectiveness through feedback mechanisms and adjust programs accordingly. Conduct new employee orientation sessions. Partner with the Safety, HR and other departments to maintain a repository for training records. Integrate new technologies into training programs to enhance the technical skills and adaptability of the workforce. Perform individual lifts and carry supplies up to 35 pounds.
