Caring. Connecting. Growing together. The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in delivering patient-oriented care under the supervision of clinicians. As an MA, you will assist in minor medical and surgical procedures, and perform various clerical and administrative duties that contribute to excellent patient care. In this role, you will work at our clinic located at 6340 Barnes Rd, Colorado Springs, CO. Key Responsibilities: Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills to ensure a supportive and caring environment for all patients. Comply with HIPAA regulations to protect patients' protected health information (PHI). Anticipate and fulfill the needs of clinicians by carrying out orders efficiently. Check in patients and escort them from the waiting area to exam rooms, and assist with additional services as required. Obtain, record, and communicate vital signs and other relevant patient information to the clinical staff. Perform medical procedures and administer medications appropriate to certification. Conduct phlebotomy, process lab specimens, and maintain accurate lab logs. Support clinicians during procedures as requested and ensure thorough documentation of all activities. Maintain cleanliness in exam and treatment areas as well as manage medical equipment. Assist with the completion of necessary forms and documentation. Required Qualifications: High School diploma or GED. Completion of a Medical Assistant program or relevant experience. BLS certification or the willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of experience in an ambulatory care setting or military experience as a Medical Assistant/EMT. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR). Experience in primary or specialty care, including pediatrics. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Flexibility to travel to various OptumCare clinic locations as needed. The hourly pay for this position ranges from $16.00 to $27.69 based on full-time employment and various factors including local labor markets and experience.
